How to Improve the Health of Your Hair

Have you noticed some women have the perfect hair and you wonder how do they do it? Are they just naturally lucky? What is their secret!

I have some great tips that will help you achieve those hair goals.

Vitamins and Minerals

Taking the right vitamins for your hair will improve its overall health. Vitamin D, Iron, B-complex and zinc vitamins are the ones recommended to get the best results.

Balanced Diet

Protein and a little bit of patience. What? How does eating protein make my hair look healthier? It’s true. It does help. Your hair needs protein to grow. Start eating more of those high protein foods such as turkey, chicken, fish, nuts, and dairy products. Remember that it’s going to take some time and be patient in the process.

Brush Correctly

You probably never thought that there is actually a correct way to comb your hair, but there is. Don’t ever brush from the root to the tip, It rips the hair out of the follicle. Brushing your hair too much, brushing it when it is wet. Make sure that you have a clean brush that is free from stray hairs and product build up. The best brush to use is a boar bristle brush that is more gentle with your hair. Using a high quality Detangling Brush (like this one) in the shower with your conditioner will help to improve the health and thickness of your hair.

Tying your hair back

When tying your hair back tie it loose and never tie it when it is wet. That is when your hair is the very weakest. Use a soft elastic that is easy to remove and won’t promote breakage.

Deep Condition

If your hair is really damaged you should do a deep conditioning on your hair 2-3 times a week. Apply the conditioner all over and be sure to focus most on the ends of your hair. You can even do this overnight and rinse it out in the morning.

Mix up your products

Switch up those shampoos and conditioners often. Buy different kinds to rotate through them. As your hair gets used to those products.

Use Protection

Always use protection when flat ironing, and curling your hair. Using a good heat protector will help your hair immensely.

Don’t take super hot showers

Did you know taking super hot showers will dry your hair, create tangles which lead to breakage?  Use lukewarm to cold when washing and conditioning your hair.

Dry Shampoo

Also known as a Women’s best friend. Using the dry shampoo you can stretch out having to wash your hair daily which is better for your hair. Use this in the night and it helps to dry up those oils.

Trim your hair

Getting your hair trimmed will actually help your hair to grow faster and healthier. Getting regular trims will stop the split ends from making their way up the hair strands which will avoid having to cut more your hair off more down the road.
