We know life is crazy right now, and it’s easy to get caught up in the uncertainty and unease that is spreading faster than COVID-19. Not being able to follow your normal daily routine, being stuck inside, and not having any major social obligations on your calendar can be pretty unmotivating. I don’t know about you, but for me, working from home means waking up and changing out of my nighttime sweats and into my day sweats. That is the extent of how much time I have been taking to get ready every morning. I’m finding it much easier to binge eat all my quarantine snacks than to take care of myself and not let the negativity get to me. Here are a few tips about the importance of self-care during quarantine.

I don’t think I have to convince anyone why self-care makes you feel good and also helps your overall daily mindset. But, if you’ve found yourself in an extended state of self-quarantine, there are some simple steps you can take to protect your mental health, in addition to your physical health. More than ever, self-care should be at the forefront of your mind. It’s important to take care of yourself and give yourself some extra attention in order to stay healthy, both physically and mentally. In just a few simple ways, you can work it into your time spent at home.

Self-Care Tips During Quarantine

  • Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning
  • Take 5 minutes and just breathe
  • Say a prayer of gratitude before your meals
  • Give yourself a facial
  • Take a bath
  • Read a book
  • Cook yourself a warm breakfast
  • Paint your nails
  • Listen to music
