Achieving a Flawless Look with Tarte: A Makeup Tutorial for Mature Skin

Preparing the Eyeshadow Base

We begin by prepping the eyelid with the NARS smudge-proof eyeshadow base, an essential step for long-lasting wear. This base helps in smoothing out the eyelid, ensuring an even application of the eyeshadows.

Applying the Transition Shade

The first eyeshadow I use is from Tarte’s palette, known for its impressive pigmentation and ease of application. I apply a selected shade over the crease with a stick shader brush, then blend it out using the crease blend m83 brush. This acts as our transition shade, creating a smooth gradient for additional colors.

Layering with Terracotta and Lavender

Next, I introduce the whimsy shade, a gorgeous terracotta, applied just above the crease. Layering and adding gradually is key in eyeshadow application. It’s easier to add more product than to remove excess. Then, I switch to a stiff shader m57 brush for applying the beautiful lavender shade, ‘No Filter’, starting at the outer corner of the lid.

Highlighting and Accentuating

For highlighting, I use the shade ‘Classic’ right under the brow. Continuing, I pack ‘Minx’, a rose gold violet shade, on the center of the lid up to the crease, adding depth and dimension to the eye.

Final Touches for the Eyes

To complete the eye makeup, I use a soften and smudge brush with the whimsy terracotta shade beneath the eye. Then, I use the ‘No Filter’ shade as an eyeliner on the upper lashes, extending it to the inner corner of the eye. For mascara, L’Oreal Voluminous Original is my choice, providing volume and definition.

Lip and Final Look

Finally, for the lips, I opt for ‘Nude Whisper’ by Maybelline, and ‘Peach Buff 540’, a matte finish. Adding some lashes gives the final, glamorous touch to this look.
